Pinnacle launches Pinnacle Cup Malta Vibes

With 2023 fully under way, the Pinnacle Cup returns to Dota 2 for the first time in two years. Building upon the success of the previous Cup, which featured The International winners Team Spirit, this new series of tournaments will allow Pinnacle to increase the scope of its previous tournament series, and continue to develop and support the Dota 2 esports community.

In partnership with Eden Esports and GamingMalta, the series will feature four online events, each uniting 40 teams from around the world in a Single Elimination bracket to compete for a prize pool of $50,000. The first tournament of Pinnacle Cup: Malta Vibes is due to start on March 29, with the Grand Finals taking place on April 8. This gauntlet knockout format will keep the stakes high throughout the whole event. From Round 2 on, for every match won, the winning team will claim a cash bounty for enemy elimination. The size of the bounty will grow with each consecutive round.

Outside of the substantial prize pool, the winners of the Pinnacle Cup: Malta Vibes event will also be granted a premium week-long boot camp package, with a luxurious stay at the 5-star InterContinental hotel in Malta. The winners will be able to enjoy this reward once within a year after the competition.

Alex McBride, Head of Esports for Pinnacle:

“Pinnacle has always had the appetite to be deeply involved with esports since 2010, and the Pinnacle Cup events are an extension of that ambition.

This will be the third year of events and going bigger with each year with a big splash into Dota 2 for this edition, backed up by a considerable prize pool.”

Sergey Bidzan, CEO of Eden Esports:

“Malta Vibes events hold a special place in our hearts as they represent Eden Esports’ home soil, the emotions and the vibes of the country. It is all about fun, comfort, and celebration!

This year we’re proud to partner up with GamingMalta and Pinnacle to host a joint tournament series and for the first time to bring Mediterranean vibes to Dota 2 community!”

The tournament will be broadcast live in four languages, utilising Pinnacle’s dedicated Twitch.tv and YouTube Dota 2 channels.

GRID Esports, a long-time partner of Pinnacle, will be the official data partner for the event, and will support all of Pinnacle’s content across all data use cases.
